Dr. Elise Ong
Global Director of Education, Britannia Sage Oxbridge School
Dr. Elsie Ong is a Lecturer and Dissertation Supervisor at University College London (UCL), with over a decade of academic experience across leading universities in Asia and the UK. Her interdisciplinary research bridges psychology, cognitive neuroscience, education, and digital innovation, with a strong focus on supporting young adults' mental health and holistic development.
Elsie is currently leading pioneering research in two emerging fields: the development of self-sustaining AI game-based platforms to enhance students’ literacy skills and 21st-century competencies, and the design of digital tools for assessing mental health challenges in youth. These projects integrate her passion for technology-enhanced learning with her longstanding expertise in psychological wellbeing.
Her previous work has focused on the mental health of university students navigating transitional life stages, exploring the cognitive and emotional underpinnings of anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation. Drawing from her background in cognitive neuroscience and psychological research, Elsie has contributed to suicide prevention frameworks and early intervention strategies tailored for educational settings. Deeply committed to improving student wellbeing and academic resilience, Elsie continues to explore how emerging technologies like AI, natural language processing, and game-based learning can reshape how we teach, assess, and support the next generation.
